Basser Global Prize recognizes a leading scientist who has advanced BRCA1 and BRCA2-related research. This year’s recipient, Patrick Sung, is director of the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute at UT Health San Antonio, associate dean for research, and professor of biochemistry and structural biology at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio.

In honor of Valentine's Day, and as a way of fostering community in her Shakespeare in Love course, Becky Friedman took her students to the University Club for lunch one class period. They talked about the movie "Shakespeare in Love," as part of a broader conversation on how Shakespeare's works are adapted.
