Coney Island boardwalk helps reconstruct Steinberg-Dietrich trellis
When it became apparent that Steinberg Hall-Dietrich Hall’s iconic trellis along Locust Walk needed replacing, the hunt began to find a hard wood that would stand up to local temperature extremes and the punishment of wisteria vines. Ipe wood (pronounced ee-pay) salvaged from the reconstruction of the Coney Island boardwalk—pre-Hurricane Sandy—fit the bill.

A new cloud of information rolls onto campus
A cloud has parked itself over Penn, and it’s a good thing. As of now, every member of the University community has access to Penn+Box, a cloud-based file sharing and storage service provided by the Office of Information Systems and Computing (ISC).

Grammy-Winning Penn Alumnus John Legend Honored at 12th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture in Social Justice
WHO: John Legend, University of Pennsylvania alumnus and nine-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist. Legend has drawn attention to global poverty and education. He’s performed numerous benefit concerts and launched the Show Me Campaign, a non-profit organization fighting poverty.
