On Friday, March 20, around 150 students celebrated Match Day with a celebration, joined by faculty, friends, and family at the atrium in the Jordan Medical Education Center. For Perelman School of Medicine students, Match Day 2026 points the way to the next destination on their journey to practicing medicine.
This year, the graduating class of 2026 will see more than a quarter of its students remaining here in Philadelphia to complete their residency requirements at either the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania or the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. And over one-third of the graduating class will remain in the Commonwealth. The top three specialties students are pursuing residencies in are internal medicine, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
