Penn is building a new hospital on its West Philadelphia campus. The 1.5 million square foot facility, dubbed the Pavilion, will be located on the former site of the Penn Tower, across the street from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and adjacent to the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine. It is slated to be the largest capital project in the University’s history.
For this edition of By The Numbers, we dive into what people can expect from the new building.
Year the facility will be completed.
Number of private patient rooms that will be in the Pavilion.
Number of operating rooms that will be in the Pavilion.
Number of stories in the building.
Number of miles of walls that will be in the Pavilion.
Length in football fields of the new building.
Number of acres of greenery, between landscaping and green roofing.
