Second-year sprinter Nayyir Newash-Campbell of the men’s track and field team broke a 93-year-old school record on Saturday in the 400 meter at the Tom Jones Invitational hosted by the University of Florida.
Newash-Campbell’s time of 46.14 broke Bill Carr’s mark of 46.28, set in 1932. The Ivy League record in the 400 meter is held by Wendell Mottley of Yale, who ran a 45.34 in 1964.
On deck for the Quakers is the 129th running of the Penn Relays, which will be held April 24-26 at Franklin Field.
