Penn VIPS Scholarships Honor Local High School Students for Community Service
WHAT:
The University of Pennsylvania will provide non-tuition scholarships to five students from five local high schools in recognition of their history of community service.
These supplemental scholarships cover expenses such as books, supplies, health insurance and other expenses that are not typically covered in financial-aid packages. Students will also receive dorm-room necessities, including microwaves and mini-fridges, courtesy of Penn MOVES.
The 24th annual awards reception honors the five students, who have maintained a 2.5 grade point average or higher, demonstrated a history of community service and been accepted into an accredited college or university for the fall semester.
