Weitzman Celebration of Design

To commemorate the naming of the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, the Penn community is invited to enjoy two panel discussions featuring world-renowned designers, a keynote naming program featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic Paul Goldberger, and a naming ceremony with President Amy Gutmann, Stuart Weitzman, and Dean Frederick Steiner.

Passport Caravan

Penn Abroad partners with CIEE to offer a fully-funded passport and photo to the first 100 students who sign up by Oct. 1. Selected students will pick a time slot on Oct. 25 to meet with a United States Postal Service agent.

Environmental Justice Symposium

With opening remarks from Provost Wendell Pritchett, this all-day convening will discuss ways in which science and technology could benefit the environmentally disadvantaged, why there are winners and losers from environmental exploitation, and what a Green New Deal means for environmental justice organizing.

Life Safety Measures

Designing a Green New Deal

Economists, designers, historians, journalists, organizers, elected officials, and more join for a day of discussion about the role the built environment will have as an inclusive Green New Deal proposal continues to be shaped. This is a day-long conference with opening remarks by Provost Wendell Pitchett and panels that examine the New Deal, explore the idea of radicalizing pragmatism, and tease out the building visions for a Green New Deal.

A Conversation with Anita Hill

The Alice Paul Center screens a conversation held in October 2018 at Penn between Kimberlé Crenshaw, Professor of Law and Psychology Dorothy Roberts, and Anita Hill. Topics covered the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford, Hill's 1990s testimony, and the #MeToo movement.
