Chonnipha (Jing Jing) Piriyalertsak, a 2023 graduate, has been selected as a 2024 Yenching Scholar, with full funding to pursue an interdisciplinary master’s degree in China studies at the Yenching Academy of Peking University in Beijing.

Penn Engineering’s Ottman Tertuliano receives a 2024 CAREER Award

Tertuliano’s research on bone fractures at the nanoscale allows for research on two separate time scales: the forming of cracks in a fracture at 1 micrometer/second, and the cellular response and repair time scale, a much lengthier process.

Thirteen Penn students and alumni have been offered Fulbright grants for the 2024-25 academic year. They will conduct research, pursue graduate degrees, or teach English in a dozen nations.
