Natasha Rezek, a star center for the Quakers in the early 1990s, will be inducted in April at the Palestra.

Natasha Rezek, who starred as a center on the Penn women’s basketball team from 1991-93 and 1994-96, will be a 2018 inductee into the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame, the organization announced on Monday, March 19.

A two-time First-Team All-Big 5 selection and a one-time Second Team All-Big 5 honoree, Rezek is the eighth-leading scorer in Penn women’s basketball history with 1,265 points and the fourth-leading rebounder with 972.

During her senior year of 1995-96, when she was named First-Team All-Ivy, Rezek led the Ivy League in scoring and rebounding, averaging 19.7 points per game and 12.7 boards. As a sophomore, she was selected Second-Team All-Ivy. Her 11.7 rebounds per game were 10th-best in the nation.

The 43 double-doubles Rezek accrued during her career are second in Penn women’s basketball history. On March 2, 1993, she grabbed 24 rebounds in a game against American University, which is still tied for the school record. She also had 17 points and 18 rebounds in a game versus La Salle; an 18-18 game against Cornell; a 21-17 game versus Richmond; a 17-22 game against Lehigh; a 23-18 game versus Princeton, and a 22-20 game against Cornell.

Rezek will be the 12th former Penn women’s basketball player to be inducted into the Big 5 Hall of Fame. The six-person class also includes Villanova’s Curtis Sumpter, Temple’s Candice Dupree, Saint Joseph’s Pat Calathes and Don DiJulia, and the late Rasual Butler of La Salle.

The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on Monday, April 16, at the Palestra.
