Goodman has great week, earns Ivy, Big 5 awards

The junior guard on the men’s basketball team has been named Ivy League Player of the Week and co-Big 5 Player of the Week.

Junior guard Devon Goodman of the men’s basketball team had a great week. He was the leading scorer in all three of Penn’s games and has been awarded Ivy League Player of the Week and co-Big 5 Player of the Week.

Facing Lafayette on Nov. 13 at The Palestra, Goodman had 16 points in the Quakers 91-61 victory, shooting 7-11 from the field and 2-4 from the three-point line. He also had three rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

In a 78-71 win against Northern Iowa on Nov. 16 in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Goodman had a career-high 27 points, four rebounds, three assists, and five steals. On fire, he shot 10-15 from the floor, and 5-8 from the three-point line. 

On Nov. 18 in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Goodman had 18 points, two rebounds, and one assist in a 48-64 loss to 12th-ranked Kansas State. He shot 6-11 on field goals, and 2-6 from the three-point line. 

A native of Laverock, Pa., Goodman is enrolled in PennDesign.
