Recruited mostly as a pitcher, Glanville says he came to Penn because the coaches would allow him to also play outfield. He trained as a pitcher for two years before he switched to outfielder and became one of the top prospects in the nation.
In 1991, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs with the 12th pick in the first round of the MLB Draft. He is a member of the Penn Baseball Hall of Fame.
