Penn community honors Martin Luther King Jr.

Penn President Amy Gutmann joined the University community Monday, Jan. 21, to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Activities as part of the national Day of Service included a breakfast at Houston Hall, banner making for kids, a clothing drive, and several community beautification projects.

Monday's events were part of the 24th annual Commemorative Symposium on Social Change, organized by the African-American Resource Center, which continues through Feb. 1.
