As part week of activities leading up to Commencement, graduates of the Class of 2025 came together on Tuesday, May 13, for Baccalaureate. A longstanding Penn tradition, the afternoon ceremony in Irvine Auditorium included interfaith readings, as well as speeches from President J. Larry Jameson, Class of 2025 President Amaan Omer, University Chaplain and Vice President for Social Equity and Community Chaz Howard, and Provost John L. Jackson Jr.
There was music and dance, too—first, the organ processional on the majestic Curtis Organ by musician Glenn Bryan, assistant vice president, community relations, and the Penn Quintet, and then performances by Counterparts, the Glee Club, Penn Lions, and finally, the recessional from the Penn Band.
This year, Class of 2025 Vice President Benjamin Sailors unveiled the Ivy Stone alongside graduate and Ivy Stone designer Tess Asness.
Following the ceremony, soon-to-be graduates gathered on College Green for the Class Carnival and to see Jameson seal the time capsule from the Class of 2025.
