PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine will provide free oral health care Feb. 6 to hundreds of children from West Philadelphia as part of "Give Kids a Smile," a children's dental access event sponsored nationally by the American Dental Association and locally by the Pennsylvania Dental Association.

PHILADELPHIA -- The School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania will offer free dental care for children aged 5-12 on Friday, Feb. 6, as a part of the School's participation in the American Dental Association's "Give Kids a Smile Day."

WHO: The staff at the University of Pennsylvania's Office of Community Housing will deliver holiday gifts for children and adults in 21 families at two West Philadelphia shelters.WHAT: Donations of newly purchased coats, shoes, pants, shirts, toys and even a Christmas tree with decorations were given by 75 sponsors from the Penn community and outside groups.

PHILADELPHIA -- The hanging of the mezuzah capped the dedication ceremony today for Steinhardt Hall, the new $12 million Hillel home at the University of Pennsylvania.  Michael and Judy Steinhardt, whose generosity made the new building possible, shared the honor with project manager Ed Berkowitz and other significant donors.

PHILADELPHIA -- Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education are developing a first-ever integrated curriculum for preschoolers in Head Start classrooms across the country.  It will encompass basic skills needed for reading and mathematics as well as both school- and social-readiness skills.
