University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill today announced the recipients of the 2023 President’s Engagement and Innovation Prizes.
The long-running Prize for graduate student instructors recognizes excellent graduate instructors; unlike many other awards, nominations are made by students.
Kozuma, who is currently executive director of College Houses and Academic Services, will begin the new post in May.
The Walter H. Annenberg Dean of the Annenberg School for Communication and Richard Perry University Professor will begin his appointment on June 1, 2023.
The University-wide minimum Ph.D. stipend will rise from $30,547 to $38,000 and goes into effect in the coming academic year.
A new initiative, Mentor Meals, aims to bring students together with faculty and staff through a complimentary lunch at Lauder College House.
The Fellows come from the nine schools at Penn that offer Ph.D. programs, and will receive a three-year fellowship, including funds to support their research.
Speaking to the Class of 2026 filling a sunny College Green, President Liz Magill and Interim Provost Beth Winkelstein assured first-years and their families that Penn will provide the support they need.
Patton will be Penn’s Brian and Randi Schwartz University Professor, with joint appointments in the School of Social Policy & Practice and the Annenberg School for Communication and a secondary appointment in the Perelman School of Medicine.
