Gracyn Banks, a senior center back on the field hockey team, has been selected to the 2022 U.S. Women’s National Development Team, USA Field Hockey recently announced.
A unanimous First-Team All-Ivy selection this past season and a NFHCA First-Team All-Region honoree, Banks was one of eight athletes selected to the Development Team after a four-day selection camp at Queens University of Charlotte. She will take part in a training camp from Feb. 23-27 in Chula Vista, California.
“The athletes selected to the U.S. Women’s National Development Team have demonstrated attributes necessary for successful contribution at the senior international level,” says Rachel Dawson, Development USWNT Head Coach. “Over the course of the next year, we will focus on preparing and developing this core group of athletes for senior international hockey.”
Banks is a USA Field Hockey veteran, having competed last year on the U-22 Junior Pan American Championship Training Squad and the U.S. U-22 Women’s National Team that won bronze in Chile in August. She was also selected to compete for USA Field Hockey in the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup in December, but the event was postponed due to the omicron variant outbreak.
