2018 Senior Design Competition winners innovate, develop, and deliver

Take a real-world problem and find a solution using emerging technologies.

That is what students from Penn Engineering’s six departments did in the annual Senior Design Project Competition. The teams pitched their finished design proposals on April 27 to a panel of alumni judges in Levine Hall.

Each team spent months drafting approaches, refining ideas, and finalizing their projects with the help of faculty advisors and outside experts.

And the winner is...

Project Lifewatch, an epinephrine auto injector the size of a wristwatch. Students Daniel Orol, Spencer Fox, Ben Bernstein, Jake Snipes, Reed Ginsberg, and Alex Garcia addressed the challenge of carrying a bulky EpiPen by designing an easy-to-carry device for people with anaphylactic allergies.
