Drawn by their interests in art, design, and support for children in Philadelphia, two Penn students in the College of Arts and Sciences, Natalie Cheng and Aled Dillabough, are working as interns this summer at the nonprofit ArtWell.

Chonnipha (Jing Jing) Piriyalertsak, a 2023 graduate, has been selected as a 2024 Yenching Scholar, with full funding to pursue an interdisciplinary master’s degree in China studies at the Yenching Academy of Peking University in Beijing.
Penelope Lusk, a Ph.D. candidate in the Graduate School of Education, has been awarded a 2024 Queen Elizabeth Scholarship, which covers all fees and provides a stipend to attend the University of Oxford for a year.
Thirteen Penn students and alumni have been offered Fulbright grants for the 2024-25 academic year. They will conduct research, pursue graduate degrees, or teach English in a dozen nations.
Fourth-year student Zijian (William) Niu in the College of Arts and Sciences has been awarded a 2024 Hertz Fellowship in applied science, engineering, and mathematics and will receive five years of funding, as much as $250,000, to pursue a doctoral degree.
Third-year Joey Wu, studying bioengineering and environmental science in the Vagelos Integrated Program in Energy Research (VIPER) program, has been named a 2024 Udall Scholar.

Two Penn students have each received a 2024 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans: Min Jae Kim, an M.D./Ph.D. in the Perelman School of Medicine, and Zijian (William) Niu a fourth-year in the College of Arts and Sciences.
