Ethan Kallett, a May graduate of Penn’s College of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded full funding to pursue an interdisciplinary master’s degree in China studies with a concentration in economics and management at the Yenching Academy of Peking University in Beijing.

Ha-Nam Yoon, a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, has been named a 2022 Udall Scholar by the Udall Foundation, recognized for leadership, public service, and a commitment to issues related to the environment.

Five undergraduates have received 2022 Goldwater Scholarships, awarded to sophomores or juniors planning research careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering. Five University of Pennsylvania seniors and four alumni have received a 2022 Thouron Award to pursue graduate studies in the United Kingdom. Senior Erin Hayes has been named a 2022 Gates Cambridge Scholar. Hayes is graduating in May with her bachelor’s degree in astrophysics and master’s degree in physics in the School of Arts & Sciences.

Two Penn seniors in the College of Arts and Sciences, Kennedy Crowder and Chinaza Ruth Okonkwo, have been named 2022 Marshall Scholars. Established by the British government, the Marshall Scholarship funds up to three years of study for a graduate degree in any field at an institution in the United Kingdom.

Two Penn seniors have been awarded 2022 Rhodes Scholarships for graduate study at the University of Oxford, Raveen Kariyawasam (left), from Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Nicholas Thomas-Lewis, from Kimball, Nebraska. Kariyawasam is in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Wharton School, and Thomas-Lewis is in the College of Arts and Sciences.
